Live Longer is About Luck

Many experts say the key to longevity is a healthy lifestyle. Apparently that assumption is not 100 percent true because among the elderly aged over 100 years, who likes sports amount not more than 50percent.

Nir Barzillai, scientists from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine reveals that after interviewing 477 elderly aged over 95 years. Some of them are older than 100 years, even there he was already reaching 112 years
.

The interviews revealed a surprising fact, since most respondents have unhealthy lifestyles like smoking and drinking, including alcohol. Even among respondents whose age is over 100 years, only 43 percent who diligently exercising to maintain fitness.

These findings imply that the opportunity for someone to have more longevity is determined by the luck factor. Lifestyle a bit much too influential, but most still died when she was not yet reached even 100 years of healthy life.

Luck is obtained naturally by some people in the form of a 'longevity gene'. This gene makes it different from most people, so they can survive much longer though sometimes his lifestyle even more unhealthy.

"Obviously in this study, in some people not much of an effect of environmental factors. They have a certain gene that makes it protected from environmental influences," he was quoted as saying Washingtonpost Barzillai.

Because of that longevity is more determined by luck, Barzillai conclusion as if to say that sport and healthy lifestyle does not really matter. In fact in the study, some smoke and rarely exercise but can live over 100 years.

However Barzillai denied if there is a conclusion. He thinks everyone should still prepare a health condition by making healthy lifestyle, because if it turns out he was lucky to live long that person will become a more productive elderly.
